Being Thankful

What are we thankful for? On any given day we should be thankful for so many things. May you have a great Thanksgiving and remember to be thankful of all the wonderful things around us.

I was going for simple with this project. I stamped the pear stamp using kaleidacolor cappuccino then again with kaleidacolor fruitcake. It is layered onto the plaid background with foam to raise it up.

Dragonfly Charm Tile

This little tile is 2x2" in size. I first did the background (a combination of decorative napkin and stamping). Gold leafed the 4 sides. Inked the leaf charm and placed on tile. Coated entire tile and charm with 2 coats of diamond glaze. After that was dry I put a blob of diamond glaze down and set the dragonfly charm in it.

Summertime Muses

or lack thereof. It is summer time and on vacation, during this time I find my creative muse flows. It hasn't been so "musey" so far. I have managed to play with a new old stamp. Here are 2 different projects using the same color on the stamped image.

Floral Mode

With spring supposedly in the air and summer on the way, I felt the need for some color. I was playing around with a couple stamps that I hadn't used in quite some time.

Paper scrap cards

Everyone always has that over flowing bin of paper scraps. Mine is no different. A while back, I decided to use as many of my paper scraps as I could on the next batch of cards I made. Here were some of my results. Some better than others.

Color Wash projects

I was so amazed at what Zana did with these at a convention. I have one of her samples by my work table. I have never quite been able to completely re-create what she did, but I have adapted my own style with the sprays.

Daisy overlay then sprayed with washes.
Geisha stamped in purple with lightly sprayed color wash behind.
Musicians with color wash.

Lillies on color wash, then clear embossed over the top.

Nancy Curry's Texture Effects Chapter 4

My chapter 4 projects
Botanic- Nancy's directions called for chalk pads, mine were worthless so I improvised with a different type of ink pad. Stamp is from Innovative Stamp Creations

Moose Trio- I didn't have a mesh brayer so I used magic mesh, a mesh brayer I know would have been easier. Stamp is from Embossing Arts
Daisy Creation- Daisy stamp from Stacy's Stamps, words from Lasting Impressions

Fern Diamonds- This one majorly challenged me as I don't have any bold stamps, so I used a shadow stamp instead. For added sparkle, I sprinkled gold ep on the spray webbing while wet and heated real quick. Stamp from Hero Arts.

Nancy Curry's Texture Effect Chapter 3

Chapter 3 is a bit sparse as I can't find my scans.
Two fish- shaving cream
Fish Acetate- using inks

Nancy Curry's Texture Effects Book Chapter 2

Chapter 2... Nancy's projects are fun to re-create. Here are my projects from chapter 2 of her book.
Happy Birthday Swirls-Stamps: both swirl stamps were from Arte Rojo. Birthstone Kaleidacolor ink pad. HB tag from Bits N Pieces. Texture tags- Left tag -stamp: Texture by Magenta and Sprigs by Ink N Rubberstamps. Right tag -stamp: Oriental bg Magenta and Lanterns by InkaStamps. I used Metallic Copper, Real Burgandy and True Teal acrylic paints on both tags just in varying amounts. I love the almost leather like feel they have.
Perfectly Maps-World Map Stamp by Sunday International
Textured parallels- Stamp is by embossing arts. I used Kaleidacolor Autumn.

Celebration- Magenta stamp on shrink plastic using gold brillance ink.
Kimono- Kimono stamp: Danalen BG stamp: Rubber Stamp Plantation

Nancy Curry's Texture Effects Book Chapter 1

Here are some of the projects I made using Nancy Curry's book as inspiration. These were made many moons ago.
Oriental village- Kaliedacolor ink palette Autumn and Caribbean. Stamp from Another Stamp Co. I am not happy with the top of this one...might just rip it off and try again.
Kite fish- Used Kaliedacolor ink palette Caribbean. Stamps: fish kites from Inka Stamps, words from Stamp Studio.

Strawberries-- This was my 3rd attempt that did not go in the trash bin. The spectra tissue doesn't show up well as I used red then like an idiot, used red ink. Stamp: Wood Cellar Graphics.

Sprigs 1- I love this technique...I have been doing it for a while using chalks, never thought about using inks...duh! (I used distress inks for this project) Sprig stamp: Rubber Stampede, Inspiration stamp: Lost Coast Stamps.
Sprigs--Same stamp as previous, just different ink colors and cream organza added....I did this card for my step-daughter's wedding shower.
Music--I used Kaliedacolor Birthday for this one. Music is a gift stamp: Stamps Happen, Music notes: Stampendous, Kokopelli: ArteRojo.

Oriental Lillies-I used a photo that I had taken from my flower garden for this one. Was given to my mom for Mother's Day.
